Senior Project

Thought maybe I would give you a taste of my senior project! I will be designing 5 posters, one of each being a 50's icon. The 5 women I have chosen are:

♥ Marilyn Monroe ♥

♥ Audrey Hepburn ♥

♥ Elizabeth Taylor ♥

♥ Sophia Loren ♥

♥ Brigitte Bardot ♥

The poster will include their name, and a quote of theirs. I am so excited about this project! So far, I have really enjoyed working on it. They are going to be huge....24x36! But my idea is to frame them and have them hung up in my house somewhere, eventually. Yay!

I will be vectorizing their faces, so I will not use photos. Here is what I have started on Marilyn.

Keep in mind, these are nowhere near done!!! I have a long way to go. Here is a preview of the poster, minus the quote and lots of other things.

I will keep you updated! :)

Parley's Logo

For my advanced Graphic Design class this semester, our first project was to design a logo for a local business. It was for a plumbing/hardware company named Parley's. We had their marketing director come in and talk to us a couple times so we had an idea of what they wanted. He said they were going to pick the top 3, pay all 3, and then decide on the winner.

GUESS WHAT!

I was in the top 3!!!!! :)

I was so excited. We are actually still waiting to hear back to see who won, so hopefully it will be mine! I am so happy to be in the top 3 though, at least. Yay!

It's funny though, because they actually picked the concept of mine that in my opinion, was one of my weaker designs. Oh well, whatever works for them. They said they wanted a script font, so that's what I used. Here is what they chose!

Just trying some diff color schemes...

Tried a couple variations of their choice. If I am the winner, I'm not sure which one they would use.

Business Card

Much need update!

Sorry I have been MIA...my life has been CRAZY! Here are some things I have been working on.

This project was for my Advanced Layout class last fall. We designed a magazine. My magazine was "green" themed.. It was hard. It kicked my butt, I'm not gonna lie. Here are a few pieces from it!

Here is the masthead (mag title design) I chose to go with:

Here is the cover:

Here is an example of one of the articles-this happens to be the letter from the editor:

And here is the feature article spread. The article was about using old beer for gasoline:

REDESIGN!

As you can see, I have redesigned my logo! I get bored pretty quickly, so hopefully I can manage to keep this new look! It's not SMART to change your brand identity, but since this is a young business I can probably bend the rules a little. :)

I hope you like it!! The colors are refreshing to me. I like to have enough colors so I can change things up a bit every once in a while.

I will be working on some stationery and other things soon. I will post everything when it is ready!

♥ you all!

Cheyenne

Next project

This project is for a magazine I am designing for my editorial design class. I love this class and I am so excited for this project. I will update you as I go along!

Logo Design

Here is an example on how part of my logo design process works. As you can see in the first example, the client wanted a number of different concepts on a logo design. In the second example, you can see how they picked one concept (concept 2), and we developed it further from there. This logo was done for my friend who opened a hot chocolate business on campus.

Final summer project

My class had to design a campaign for MAC cosmetics. We got to work with the Advanced Photography class to get the photos for the shoot. It was to give us experience on what a real life experience would be like working with a photographer. I got to decide how the model's makeup would look and what the feel of the design would be. It is a lot easier working with a photographer than trying to find stock photos that would fit the exact look you are going for. Here are a couple pieces from the project. The first is a billboard, and the second is a two-page magazine spread.

Birth Announcement #2

Click on this to make it bigger. The white design looks pink when it is small :)

P.S. This is a good example of how .jpg can make the design look rough. Or like someone spilled water on it. I can ASSURE you that these designs do not print that way. If you don't believe me I'll send you a PDF. :)

Finally Introducing...

my new design business name as

:..illarie design shop..:

{ pronounced eye-la-ree }

Can I just explain to you all how STRESSFUL it is to come up with a name for a business!!! I had a couple names picked out that I really loved, but come to find out, all of them were already taken and trademarked!! So I had to come up with new ones and oh my it is a crazy thing. I am very happy with the name I have now. It has a couple special meanings to me. I definitely like it a lot better than Designs by Cheyenne. :)

Here are two more versions of the logo:

As you can see, the logos are pretty much the same but the colors change a little. I LOVE color and so I picked a wider palette of colors so I can play around with them a little bit. I get bored VERY easy. haha.

Next, look out for some ideas I am working on for my website and stationery. Also coming is my pricing and process information.

Love you guys all and THANKS for your support!

I am truly doing what I LOVE!!!
